The bowl haircut of the 90s is something most people would rather not relive. But for those few that do, KFC is offering consumers an opportunity to chop their hair into the uniform shape in an effort to promote its Famous Bowls.
Kentucky Fried Chicken is bringing together its food bowls and bowl haircuts, celebrating an abundance of food in a bowl with an abundance of style. On Thursday, January 10 from 1-5pm EST in Brooklyn, KFC is hosting a pop-up event to offer consumers a chance to receive a trendy bowl cut in honor of its $3 Famous Bowl promotional pricing, as well as the introduction of a new Spicy Famous Bowl.
With the help of hairstyle designers, KFC has created five modern-day takes on the bowl cut style. The KFC-approved cuts range from the traditional ‘Original Recipe’ to the ‘Spork and Bowl’ to the ridiculous ‘Colonel’s Stripes’.
Participants will receive a gift card for a KFC Famous Bowl and have the opportunity to be photographed with their new ’do for a chance to be featured on KFC’s Twitter channel. Those outside of New York can show the digital lookbook from the website to their stylist, let them work their magic and share their KFC-inspired bowl cut on Twitter using #KFCFamousBowlCuts.
