Kerrygold is tapping into the fact that many people like to listen to music while they cook in its latest campaign.
The dairy brand has created Spotify playlists to go with recipes using its range of butter, cheese and Irish Cream Liqueur. Some of the recipes were developed by influential chefs: New York Times columnist Alison Roman, “Top Chef” winner Kristin Kish, Chicago chef and James Beard 2016 Rising Star Jenner Tomaska, Ellen King, co-owner of Chicago bakery Hewn and Irish chef and cookery writer Clodagh McKenna.
Each recipe has a corresponding Spotify playlist to be played in the kitchen, aiming to match the mood of the recip–lively for a group brunch, or romantic for a date-night dish. There are also selections to enhance the rhythm of chopping or the calm of baking and waiting for a cake in the oven. For example, you might be making Apple Cheddar pies to the sound of “Roll Up Your Sleeves” by Meg Mac or Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” performed by Vitamin String Quartet.
Energy BBDO developed the campaign, which includes a promotional video starring the contemporary Irish group “I Draw Slow” playing a concert for cows.
