Spangler Candy Company is appointing Smith Bros. Agency as its first-ever AOR, following a formal review.
The Bryan, Ohio-based candy maker previously worked with local firms on a per-project basis.
The Pittsburgh-based agency’s remit includes all brands under the portfolio, including Dum-Dums lollipops, Saf-T-Pops and Spangler Circus Peanuts.
The agency’s first assignment is to conduct research to better understand how this 112-year-old family-owned company fits into today’s marketplace.
The second task will likely introduce a brand-building campaign on behalf of Dum-Dums, the top-selling lollipop brand in the U.S.
