Independent agency Mekanism has been named agency of record for Proximo Spirits’ Jose Cuervo brand, following a review that was carried out prior to the start of the coronavirus pandemic in the U.S. The account will be run out of the agency’s New York office.
The business previously was handled by MDC Partners’ CPB, which had also held the account of Proximo Spirits’ 1800 Tequila brand. One person close to the business said CPB parted ways with Proximo Spirits at the end of 2019 and it did not compete to defend Jose Cuervo in the recent review.
