We have good news and bad news, people. The good news is that self-driving pizza delivery vans are becoming a reality. The bad news is that our world is literally turning into Black Mirror.
Pizza Hut has tweeted some concept art for what it calls “the first Pizza Hut fully autonomous delivery concept vehicle”, saying that it is excited about its future partnership with Toyota.
And while your initial reaction might be, ‘OK guys, you’re a bit early for April Fools’ Day but fair play LOL etc’, this is actually a thing.
At the Consumer Electronics Show, the car manufacturer announced the strangely titled e-Palette, an automated vehicle that can suit a variety of needs.
As well as Pizza Hut, Toyota has teamed up with Amazon and Uber (reports the Top Gear website) to expand the bits and bobs that you can put in the e-Palette.
You’ll be able to transport goods and people, order food, and the company even has ideas for mobile science labs.
